about

Goya Toca A Oz is the fourth studio album by Italian musician Seizon, published in 2010.
After the trilogy developed with the support of the ghOST Orchestra, Seizon decided to make a record back to its heavy-rock roots. No longer a massive use virtual orchestra then, but rather a variety of guitars and atmospheric synths, to create a more personal and intimate sound. While in the past all the music was written and sequenced by MIDI, in this case composition and recording took place together, very often improvising and live playing. Seldom scores was written for the ghost Orchestra, appearing in the last two songs as “help” for guitars’ stuff. The idea behind this album was to translate into music the dark atmosphere and visual style of Francisco Goya in which, according to the imagination of Seizon, was commissioned a work of fiction, namely the representation of the world of Oz as it appears the story of Lyman Frank Baum. The challenge consisted in turning the vision of the world of Oz, making it dramatic and threatening. The very title “Goya Toca A Oz” in Spanish means both “Goya Plays Oz”, and “Goya Reaches Oz.”
